The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 issues are not getting wrapped up. Now a new update has come about the postponement of NEET UG Counselling 2024, which will be held from today, 6th July 2024. The counselling was to be conducted for the NEET UG all-India quota. This development came after the Supreme Court refused to postpone the NEET-UG counselling. The Supreme Court bench led by CJI DY Chndrachud with Justice JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra will hear NEET UG petitions on July 8th.

Many petitioners claimed paper leak, demanding cancellation of the whole NEET UG exam and a re-exam. Many petitions have been found to request the inquiry into the National Testing Agency’s whole management process of NEET UG. NEET UG Counselling is conducted in multiple stages in which there are stray vacancy rounds and mop-up rounds. Candidates who qualify for the NEET UG must register and pay the fee for NEET UG Counselling. They have to fill out the choices to lock the seats, upload their documents and visit the allotted institutions on the given date.

NEET UG Counselling process is conducted for 15 per cent AIQ which includes seats at various government colleges, central and deemed Universities along with seats reserved for children of Insured Persons (IP quota) in Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical colleges and seats available at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune. Moreover, the National Testing Agency recently released the results of a retest of 813 (out of 1563) aspirants. The re-exam was held on 23rd June 2024. The problem started when results came and 67 students came in 1st rank. It raised people’s doubts. Six candidates earned 720 our office and 720 perfect scores after they were awarded Grace Marks Due Marks due to loss of time during the examination. Grace Marks has never been a part of the NEET UG results and these activities raise distrust of people on the NTA.
