RRB NTPC Recruitment Selection Process
The selection process of RRB NTPC Recruitment involves five stages-
First Stage of CBT
Second Stage of CBT
Typing Test (Skill Test) / Aptitude Test
Document Verification
Medical Examination
First Stage CBT (Computer-Based Test): It is an online test of multiple-choice questions. This test involves General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning.
Second Stage CBT: It is also an online test. One who qualifies for the first stage will appear for the second stage of CBT. It is similar to the first stage but is more in-depth.
Typing Skill Test/Computer-Based Aptitude Test: It is required for certain posts like Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist.
Document Verification: One who qualifies in the first, second and third stages will be called for document verification. Candidates have to submit their documents and verify them.
Medical Examination: The final step involves a medical examination to ensure candidates are fit for the job. If a candidate clears this stage, he/she will be hired for any of RRB NTPC posts.

RRB NTPC Recruitment Exam Pattern
First Stage CBT 1: CBT 1 is the first stage and is common for undergraduate or graduate posts. It has three sections-Maths contain 30 questions for 30 marks, General Intelligence & Reasoning contains 30 questions for 30 marks and General Awareness contains 40 questions for 40 marks. Total time duration of 1 hour 30 minutes to complete three sections. There is no negative marking in this exam.
Second Stage CBT 2: CBT 2 is the second exam for the RRB NTPC. It has different levels of difficulty as compared to CBT 1. It has three sections- Maths contains 35 questions for 35 marks, Reasoning contains 35 questions for 35 marks and General Intelligence & General Awareness contains 50 questions for 50 marks. Total time duration of 1 hour 30 minutes to complete all three sections like CBT 1. There is a negative mark in this exam. On every wrong answer, one-third marks will be deducted.
