BSSC CGL Vacancy Details 2024

The total number of vacancies released by Bihar Staff Services Commission for the Combined Graduate Level exam is expected to be 5380 vacancies. These vacancies are distributed across various levels of posts. The vacancy distribution as per the level of post is provided in the table below.

BSSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates who wish to apply for the post of combined graduate level officer helps to fulfill the following educational and age criterias to be able to apply for the exam. 

 

Educational Qualification 

The educational qualification required for the post of BSSC Combined Graduate Level officer is : 

  • The applying candidate must have completed the graduation in any stream from a recognised institution.

 

Age Criteria 

Following is the age criteria for candidates who want to apply for the post of BSSC CGL : 

  • The candidate must be of minimum 21 years and maximum 37 years of age.

 

Candidates must also note that is relaxation is available for certain reserved categories 

  • For SC/ST the age relaxation provided is up to 42 years 
  • For OBC category the age relaxation is of up to 40 years 

 

BSSC CGL Application Procedure 2024

Once the official notification is released, candidates will be eligible to apply for the BSSC CGL exam by filling the application form that will be available on the Bihar Staff Selection Commission’s official website. Therefore, candidates who are willing to apply for the post must be acquainted with the educational qualification, age criteria, selection process, and examination pattern beforehand. To fill the application form, following steps are to be followed. 

  • Open the Bihar Staff Selection Commission website www.bssc.bihar.gov.in
  • Register yourself under new registration tab
  • You are registration id and password will be sent to your register email ID and phone number 
  • After logging in, an application form will open on your screen. 
  • Fill the opened application form with great care. 
  • Upload all the required documents that the application mentions.
  • Click on the submit button and proceed to pay the application fee which can be only paid by an online mode. 
  • Once the fee payment is done, a confirmation mail will be sent to your registered email ID. 
  • Download a copy of your application form or take a printout for future reference.

BSSC CGL Application Fee 2024

All the candidates applied for the post have to pay a minimal application fee while applying. This fee varies depending on the category the candidate belongs to. 

 

  • For candidates of general, OBC, and EWS categories, the application fee is ₹540.
  • For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Physically handicapped categories, the fee is only ₹135. 

 

BSSC CGL Selection Procedure 2024

Interested candidates are suggested to make themselves acquainted with the examination pattern before starting the preparation of the exam. The exam for BSSC CGL is conducted in two stages: 

  • Preliminary Exam 
  • Mains Exam 

 

Prelims Exam

  • The prelims exam of BSSC CGL is a qualifying nature exam which carries 600 marks.
  • The total number of questions asked in the paper are 150 which includes subjects such as general science, mathematics, general knowledge, logical reasoning, mental ability, and comprehension.
  • All the questions asked in the paper are of objective type.
  • Each correct answer is rewarded 4 marks. 
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours 15 minutes. 
  • The distribution of questions from each subject is given below.

Mains Exam

The second phase of the BSSC Exam is the main exam which consists of two papers with each paper spanning 2 hours 15 minutes. 

  • The number of questions asked for the paper is 400 & 600 questions respectively. 
  • Candidates require a minimum of 30% marks to qualify these exams.
  • The distribution of questions for the subject in both the papers is given below in the form of a table.

Candidates who clear the main examination also are called for the final stage which is document verification. At the stage if any document provided by the candidate is found false, his/her candidature will be canceled.
