It is to provide new electricity connections to the citizens of UP on a fast-track basis. You can get your electricity connection within ten days of application. The application form is filled out online on the Jhatpat portal of the UPPCL website (https://www.uppcl.org). It is an easy and quick way of getting an electricity connection. Jhatpat Scheme is a single-window online solution to every electricity-related problem.
The prime objective of this scheme is to facilitate underprivileged people with electricity. The hardships they face due to lack of facilities can be reduced to an extent with electricity connections. This scheme provides them with connections from 1KW to 20KW. The people may use electricity for domestic and industrial purposes.

Address proof- To apply for a Jhatpat connection, you should be a resident of UP
Identity proof- The candidate who wants a new electricity connection must have valid ID proof.
Category proof- Both BPL and APL are eligible for this scheme. There should be proof of that too.

How to apply for Jhatpat Connections?
There are a few steps to be followed before applying for the scheme-
Step 1: Visit the official website of UPPCL(Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited) also known as the Jhatpat portal
Step 2: On the homepage click on the connection services in the consumer corner section.
Step 3: Click on the Apply for New Electricity Connection button.
Step 4: Soon the window opens, for new users, select ‘For New Registration Click Here’ and existing users log in using your credentials.
Step 5: Verify the captcha and click on the register button
Step 6: OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. Submit the OTP.
Step 7: On OTP verification, your Jhatpat credentials will be sent on your mobile save those carefully.
Step 8: Login into your account with all the details.
Step 9: On completion of verification by the UPPCL Department, you will receive a confirmation message on the registered mobile number.
Step 10: After the verification process is complete, the electricity meter will be installed at the mentioned address within ten days.
