Requirements for the continuation of the scholarship

He/she must secure 60% marks in Class 10 (5% relaxation for reserved categories) to get a scholarship in Class 11.

Students pursuing their studies in private schools.

Students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sainik schools.

NMMS Scholarship 2024-25 Application fee

NMMS Scholarship 2024-25 Selection process

Every State and Union territory will be conducting tests for the eighth graders to identify learners who are deserving of the National average cum merit scholarship. The exams will be in two parts including;-

  • Mental Ability Test (MAT)
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

 

In order to be eligible to take the selection test of Class VIII and be able to get the scholarship, the students must be able to score at least 55% of marks or grade equivalent in the Class VII examination they sat for. The SC/ST students have a 5% rule relaxation. Furthermore, such students must attend Government, Government-Aided, or local body schools on a regular basis.

 

  • Mental Ability test: Here’s a quiz of 90 items in multiple-choice form, which is to measure verbal and nonverbal meta-cognitive skills like reasoning and critical thinking. Covered topics will involve among others: Deduction, Arrangement, Mathematical Logic, and Series Completion as well.
  • Scholastic Ability test: The SAT has 90 multiple-choice questions that are based on topics that one learns in grades 7 and 8 like Math, Science, and Social Studies.
  • Time duration: The duration of each test is 90 minutes.
  • Accommodation for disabled students: Extra time will be assigned to disabled students according to their individual needs and merit.

 

NMMS Scholarship 2024-25 Result

The selection process for students considers these criteria:

  • MAT and SAT exam criteria: It is compulsory that a student passes both the MAT (Mental Ability Test) and SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) exams. It is required that they achieve a total score of equal to or above 40 percent in all these two exams for them to qualify for selection. For students falling within SC/ST categories, the cut-off mark in respect of these exams can be a bit lower than 32 percent.

Criteria for Eligibility for Scholarship: For a student to get a scholarship, they should have had a minimum of 55% or higher grade in their Class VIII examination. But SC/ST students deserve of 5% elimination from this academic need hence their pass mark falls to 50%.
